Words and things to come!
A really big thank you to all the performers and audience members who supported our recent Poetry Show on Monday 21st November 2011. This was held for the first time upstairs at Henry's Bar in Sheffield.
May we apologise to the people who found the performance area unsympathetic. This was due to the overwhelming turnout, which exceeded our original expectations.
But all in all, the night went
well and we were treated to some brilliant spoken word performances from our regular guests, and some very welcome newcomers.Sorry about the delay. Hopefully the podcast of this event will be available in our radio section soon.
.
A special mention should be made for the wonderful contributions made by the Write Space & Prozac Prose writing groups – some really interesting pieces there!
Please bring more of this good stuff to the table in 2012!
Also, much praise for the staff of Henry's for letting us perform at their venue.
If anyone reading this has any suggestions for what they consider to be a suitable central easy-access venue, for our live poetry show, then they are more than welcome to place these suggestions in our guestbook.
OTHER NEWS
The sadly neglected Word Press section may get some attention in 2012. Look out for some new entries (time permitting), especially regarding “playful” prose. Also check out Ruth's Diary for her regular comments and on going chats, why not join in?
There have been a number of significant changes to Words & Things during 2011. Even though we have faced many problems with limited team members availability, we still aim to continue and build upon our success so far.
A
very special mention must be made regarding Graham Stevens who has
recently become a new member of the group. Plus, we are producing
a special podcast which will feature his finest poetry, more information will be
available soon. Finally May I wish you all a very Happy 2012!
